Though the Internet has increased vastly our capacity to know things,to communicate with others and to get information quickly and widely,some reactions among US towards its utiliza tion in culture teaching and learning are typically emotion—driven.There are those in whom it evokes anxiety and confUSion.There are also those whose uncritically enthusiastic embracing of the In—ternet may produce equally negative results.The Internet links distant places and diverse areas of cultures in new productive ways.It allows US to form and sustain communities for WOrk.play,and learning in ways unimaginable j ust a decade ago.It changes the relationship between people and knowledge.It quickens the steps of the globalization.Yet,the full applications of the Internet in culture teaching do not mean the abandonment of the traditional pedagogy.The Internet has the capacity to an hance and enrich teaching.But an intoxicated fascination with its technology at the expense of sound pedagogy can only be harm ful,for all ts superficial attractions.
